Friday, a woman came into the store with complaints that her Sanyo 7050 wasn't charging. I looked at the charing port -- which was exposed because the cover was cut off -- and saw corrosion on the contacts. After I showed that to her she went on a rant about how she's sick of coming in here and getting told her phone's gotten wet, and that this phone is supposed to be waterproof, anyway. Instead of arguing, I told her I'd do my best to clean it up and get it running again, at least for the time being.
I took the phone to the tech room and opened it up. The whole circuit board was white with corrosion, which is usually what happens when a phone gets dropped in salty or chlorinated water. So, before I attempted to clean it I took it out to show her. Again, she told me it's not possible that the phone is water damaged because it has never gotten wet - ever.
"That's not even corrosion," she continued, "it's probably just laundry detergent from when it went through the washer one time."
The diet's going good. A few people who didn't realize I was on a diet noticed I'm losing weight. By the end of the year I should be close to where I was at in highschool.
AND! I got my car back...pretty much in the same condition it was when I last had it, eight months ago. Once I get it running I'll have to get it painted ASAP before rust starts developing. Then I can let someone rape me on the price of the engine work, or just sell it as-is and buy another one.
